A quick note!

Hey


Just a quick note to say that after i boiled them 1 of the plum and apple wine was still fermenting. so i left it fermenting. it obviusly had super yeast in it. so anyway its finally stopped fermenting i will bottle it latter. then i will set of the other one. so i have the plum and apple in time for xmas

Brewery redo and exiting new wine

Hey all
Its been a while since i posted on this blog but exiting things have been happening

firstly i am having my room redone. so the cupboard doors have gone and now the brewery stuff we be kept there and eventually will have a bar in there.. this is still not finished so its working progress. 

alse i have started my apple and plum wine. which i wasnt going to start anything apart from the plums were ready and had to be used there and then. so i have juiced the cooking apples. and stewed the plums and then sived them into a demi-john. with the juiced apples and the plums it came to about a full demijohns worth. i then put half in another Demijohn and filled them up with apple juice to bulk it out. after this it was late so i stook airlocks on them and left em. 

the following morning shock horror they had started fermenting. so i stook a crushed campden tablet in and left it over night thinking it will have stopped fermenting (like its ment to). nope its still fermenting so i added another one and left it. again still fermenting. so i left it untill today where a good friend came round and told me to boil it of to kill the yeast then i can add my own yeast. so plan to tonight it to boil 2 demijohns full of plum and apple cider.

2 posts to day. 1st is Vimto wine and bambeer #2

Right, just keeping you informed as i have done a few things since last time i posted. cuz i have been lazy and not posted

1stly i attempted vimto wine. using instructions from the homebrew forum.


VIMTO WINE

750 grams sugar
1 litre bottle vimto
mix sugar with vimto and boil gently for 15 mins in a pan to allow any preservatives to boil off and then skimmed scum off.
allow to cool to room temp
add to DJ, add cold water to shoulder only
Then add
1 teaspoon of youngs yeast
1 teaspoon of youngs nutrient


Nothing happened. just could not get it to start fermenting. :(

2ndly i started Bambeer #2. using a caxton cask ale homebrew kit. 
finished fermenting and is now ageing in bottles.

Hewiian headbanger #2

started this about a week ago. a day later had mum shouting saying "homebrew has gone moldy" nope i have just never used a clear demi-john before.



the cider seems to have brewed even though i thought i didn't have enough yeast!



will change djs within this week i hope.



by the way what do people think of the logo for the brewery???

Bottling and sugering pineapple and apple cider

Finaly found change to bottle and suger the pinapple and apple cider today due to the fact of not walking because of my gammy ankle. has a sneaky swig of the cider and tis tasting good. when it wasnt suggered it tasted very sour but its alright now. just needs a name! 

In a charity shop yesterday i spotted to clear Demi-johns so i bought them. bringing the total up to 5.

Gran has also offered to pay for the apple juice for my turbo cider in return for some. so i am on my way now. with 5 DJs. hopefully full on cider soon.

sneeky swigs and tasty experements.

just had a sneeky swig of the pineapple and apple cider. it was very nice. you can rili taste the pineapple. will bottle it soon as i have just transfered it to some more holding bottles thats how i got the swig (from the siphoning tube)

Pineapple and apple cider/wine

Experamenting time. 


4 cartons apple
1 pineapple



i wounder how it will taste. its an ace colour. very golden yellow. much darker that the normally turbo (hot goblin). this one is unsuggered and only took 6 days to finish fermenting. i have kept it an extra few days to age then i will bottle it into glass bottles.



I have put it in some plastic bottles to let it age a little. small wholes in lids so there isnt much pressure. 


the smell is very nice though. much nicer than the normal turbo (hot goblin)
